X-23 Bares Claws in New 'Logan' Trailer

By Freddy  /  21 Jan 2017 (Saturday)

Since the first trailer came out, we knew that ‘Logan’. will be tonally very different from the rest of the X-Men films that came before it. Set in a decrepit, almost post-apocalyptic, near future where most X-Men have died, Logan a.k.a. Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Professor X (Patrick Stewart) are very different from when we last saw them in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’.

The star of this trailer is the little girl called Laura Kinney (Dafne Keen), an 11-year-old girl who is suggested to be Logan’s clone. She is more well-known by her alias X-23 in the comic books. She takes on the moniker of Wolverine after Logan’s death in the comics in 2014.

She had no problem openly stealing and attacking the shop attendant.

How funny was it when Logan said “Not okay” then stole some cigars for himself? That is not how to be a role model.

It seems that some men (the government?) want to capture Laura, which is when she unleashes her claws. The bony ones like Logan’s in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’, not the adamantium-covered ones.

We see Laura and Logan eventually teaming up to fight against these men.

I am liking what we see from Dafne Keen’s performance as Laura so far. She is feral, unstable, and a little cold. We can see why Professor X said that she is a lot like Logan.

I am not sure what Professor X is doing here, though. He just looks stunned a lot.

'Wolverine' films have not had a great reputation so far. But will you watch Hugh Jackman's swan song to the X-Men franchise? Let us know in the comments.

'Logan' opens in theatres 2 March 2017.
