Artemis Fowl Is Finally Scheduled To Hit Theatres
By Chen Shun / 03 Mar 2020 (Tuesday)
It has been a long time since there was any information for the new Artemis Fowl movie. Originally set for release last August, it was pushed back to May of this year, putting more than a year between the release of the first trailer and this new one.
While the trailer is interesting, many fans of the original book of Artemis Fowl will be disappointed. In the novel, Artemis Fowl is what you would describe as…evil. Contrary to that, Artemis Fowl in the movie is completely different. In the movie, Artemis’ family is only evil on the outside but in the book, Artemis is all about kidnapping fairies in an attempt to extort their gold. His purpose in doing that is to fund his search for his missing father, which is nice, but he doesn’t hesitate to do bad deeds to achieve his aim.
The trailer honestly looks like it will be jam-packed with action and I am not complaining. I mean, who can say no to movies with fairy, elves, trolls, action and magic? You can think of this as a combination of James Bond's action scenes and Harry Potter's Wizarding World colliding together.
For your information, the movie is an adaptation of the book and it is not completely written based on it. If you think the movie will be bad, you can think twice as it has a solid cast including Judi Dench and Colin Farrell and helmed by the director, Kenneth Branagh.
Artemis Fowl is slated to hit cinemas on 28 May 2020 in Singapore.
