6 Films that Should be in 3D!

By InCinemas  /  31 May 2013 (Friday)

The 2003’s classic film, Jurassic Park just released a 20th anniversary 3D remake, so we can’t help but to dig out six other films that should also have a 3D release, and of course, that one movie that should never, ever go near there.

(Now Showing in theatres - Read our review of Jurassic Park 3D here!)

Jaws

Come’on, Jaws shook the world with its menacing teeth and practically changed the image of sharks. This movie isn’t called a classic for nothing. It brought cinemas and filmmaking to another notch, all thanks to director Steven Spielberg’s incredible storytelling. (We can go on for hours how brilliant this guy is...)

Short clip from Jaws (1975)

If Jurassic Park can have a 3D release, I see why not Jaws? Right, the imagery might not be as visually stunning compared to the former, but I bet it still scares you when the music plays. And no, we're not talking about THAT 3D release.

So many things can be done with Harry Potter and the 3D technology. It’s like a perfect match made in heaven. Already tons of scenes like the Quidditch games, the ginormous chess board, Hogwarts Express, Diagon Alley and Gingotts Wizarding Bank will look so beautiful on a 3D screen!

The list continues as we have made our point as to why Harry Potter should definitely be jumping onto the 3D bandwagon.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Trailer

For the fifth and sixth films of the Harry Potter franchise, they were converted to a 3D Blu-ray and cinema release, but we can't wait for them to remake for the first three films!

The Matrix

We are definitely crossing our fingers for 3D plans to the sequels of The Matrix. Even without the 3D glasses, the film looked so good with its green technology-morse code-like background and all the slow-motion camera techniques. Can you even imagine that?

Also, watching Keanu Reeves in 3D would be perfect! Just perfect...

Twister

Perhaps Twister will be one that a 3D remake will add more depth and emotions to a film. A natural disaster like this will not only evoke not-so-pleasant memories of those who personally went through events like those.

Seen a flying cow? - You're welcome!

On the other hand, we have not really seen good 3D natural disaster-centric films and why not get one where the story has already deemed impressive?

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Chocolates! Sweets! Cakes! Sugar! This will not only be seen as a kid’s wonderland-esque film, but adults will be ginning quietly in their hearts, looking just as enchanted like the little ones. Who doesn’t like the sinful rich chocolate fountain splashing right before our eyes, the edible flowers made of cakes and those colourful gobstoppers swirling round the factory?

Let Mr Wonka welcome you to his factory!

We can’t decide if the 2005 film starring Johnny Depp and Freddie Highmore would be a better choice or the 1971 ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ would fare better. If we based on the miniature workers, oompa loompas then maybe Deep Roy scores a little higher.

Ghostbusters

‘Who ya gonna call’ (Ghostbusters!)

If Ghost Busters would to have a 3D remake, I believe the producers will adjust the depth between those floating ghosts and the humans, which will look appealing on screen. Most 3D movies don’t adopt the ‘pop out’ factor, but focuses more on decreasing the inner depth, which ghostbusters would stand out it tries the ‘pop out’ factor.

Now that you have seen our choices, you might or might not agree with these six films but you have to stand on our side when we say this particular movie should have never thought of wasting their money on producing a ‘3D’ film. Never.

And the award goes to...

Sorry guys, boobs didn’t help in this case. Plastic sharks, horrible CGI, gross acting and a shitty story. The only saving grace would be pretty ladies clad in bikinis and yes, lots of covered boobs and we mean huge assets.

The trailer of Shark Night 3D

Why would one spend money to make such a *(insert your own adjective) film and spend even more money creating a 3D version? I would rather the bucks spent on a better writer who would at least make it a 1.5-star rating than wasting precious money on post-production technology!

For “Dumb fun”? You mean...just ‘dumb’.
