Fish Leong promotes her latest album “What Love Songs Didn't Tell You”

“What Love Songs Didn’t Tell You” marks her 11th studio album and her first releasing album with Universal Music. Appearing in white fashionable shirt paired with dark leather jeans, our ‘Queen of Love Songs’ strides elegantly into the ballroom, waving and greeting at the crowd. Fish Leong’s new style is obvious with her short reddish purple hair and bolder make ups as featured in her album front.
I think that she looks brilliant. Won’t you agree? Denise Chew, the Deejay from 93.3FM and also the emcee for the day, shares my thought. Complimenting that Fish looks happier than before, Denise compares the previous time when she’s here to promote her album which usually relates to gloomy love songs. Relating her marriage with Tony last year, Denise praises, “You look happier now and you have the joyous glow. Even the cheeks are smiling!” Accepting his compliments, Fish replies, “I’m glad to bring this kind of feeling to you and I hope to share this happiness to my fans.”

Talking about her change, Fish shares with us that she came across some bold and havoc styles featured in the fashion magazines and she thought of trying them out in the new album. In fact, the new short reddish purple hairstyle has appealed to her with its advantages. “I’m beginning to love this kind of hair as it requires less effort to do up my hair after waking up. Also, it suits me in my character as being more forthcoming.” Fish Leong adds. “I hope the public will like my new style.”
Apart from her new style, Fish Leong also has a new status in the album. When asked if it’s enjoyable to be the producer of the album, Fish replies, “In the Music Executive part, it has been very stressful for me. It isn’t very enjoyable actually as there’s a lot of things to be taken care of.”
Poor Fish Leong.. She used to maintain good sleeping quality but because of her new album, the stress has brought her nightmares and increased teeth grinding during her sleeps. It has also made her nervous as she really cares a lot of other’s opinion and feedback on her album. These result in frequent meet ups with her closer friends to relieve her stress and increased dental appointments. On a brighter note, she jokes, “This kind of stress is good in the way as it will keep her figure in shape.”

Denise points out, “Only one person will know about your nightmares and teeth grinding problems, isn’t it?” Her husband has actually been helping Fish to advertise and supporting her albums. Fish mentioned that he would pre-order her latest albums and also recommending her albums to their friends and relatives. When asked how she feels about her hubby acting as a courier to help her send some important stuffs to her friends , Fish promptly replies that she thinks it’s very convenient, bringing laughter to the floor.
Denise continues, “How would you reciprocate his efforts of pre-ordering 10 of your album?” Fish Leong says she’ll make sure he doesn’t lose the receipt by clipping it onto the fridge. Hearing that, Denise suggests that she should at least give a kiss to her husband next time. Fish replies, “That happens in daily life, isn’t it?”
“Well, now we know!” Denise said cheekily.
With regards to her favourite song in the album, she shares with us the top three which she likes.
1. «我就知道那是愛» because she produced this song and it’s the first time she tries something towards the country pop and electric genre. The song is also Optimistic and pleasant to ears.
2. «不為失戀說抱歉» as it suits her character just like the song «分手快乐» where she feels that it’s comforting for her closer friends and sisters whom she cared for. She also enjoys the melody and the atmosphere that the song creates
3. «一家一»The song that she sang with her cousin, Zhang Chi Cheng. She hasn’t done a song that is more of congratulating the newly-weds and wishing them happiness. She hopes that this song will be used in weddings in future.
Also, we learnt that Fish hopes to attempt song writing in future. She has been preparing for it and actually records a tune on her phone when inspiration knocks in. More importantly, Fish Leong will be coming to Singapore to do a concert soon. “Things are being planned and forming into place, and in July there will be quite a number [of concerts].” Fish Leong notes. “It may probably be earlier in June.”
