The Great Escape dubbed as the Modern “Hunger Games”?

By InCinemas  /  12 Jun 2013 (Wednesday)

A reality show programme where participants jail breaks, solve thrilling puzzles and take on a variety of physical challenges in order to beat their opponents and be the first to get out to win the grand prize.

From the Oscar-winning filmmakers Ron Howard and Brian Grazer and the Emmy-winning producers of The Amazing Race, Bertram Van Munster and Elise Doganieri, comes The Great Escape - a series that thrusts ordinary people – put in teams – into their own version of an action-adventure film.

The Great Escape premieres on KIX (StarHub Cable TV Channel 518) and KIX HD (SingTel mioTV Channel 309) on 25 June, 10pm!

About The Great Escape
The 10-part series brings viewers through thrilling experiences for this action-packed reality series packs all the heart-pounding excitement and nail-biting suspense of a summer popcorn movie!

Each week, different pairs of contestants will battle it out to be the top, but it isn’t as easy as it seems. Teams will be blindfolded and brought to a secret location where they have to think and act fast, using wits, strength and teamwork to unravel the clues along the way. They have to find secret passageways and overcome physical obstacles to emerge as the champion. Even luck plays a part during each round for everything they find might be a clue and each tool they pick up might lead them to something promising.

First Episode Review
InCinemas got to catch the pilot episode of The Great Escape - Escape Singer Castle and yes, we agreed the intense-thrilling show felt like a scene out from a movie, but not exactly a “Hunger Games special”.

Perhaps you know these contestants aren’t going to die and they are ‘assisted’ with clues and tools along the way. Just like the movie, these obstacles are man-made which gives a sense of creativity and excitement in the way the show is filmed and produced.

Nonetheless, it is exciting no doubt, and throughout the show, we were subconsciously rooting for our favourite team and grumbled when the winner wasn’t the ideal group we hoped for. Through the obstacles they faced, many things were going through our minds if we would be able to do the same thing if we were in their shoes.

It’s a great show for the family and friends to unwind, relax and watch these ‘tributes’ fight till the end.

Don't forget to catch all action in this reality series, premiering first and exclusively on KIX (StarHub Cable TV Channel 518) and KIX HD (SingTel mioTV Channel 309), at 10pm on Tuesday, June 25 2013.

You saw this coming, we just have to say “May the odds be ever in your favour!”
