Smurf-tastic Smurfin’ at Global Smurfs Day Last Smurf-turday!

InCinemas got Smurf-ed last Saturday at Bugis Junction where we celebrated Global Smurfs Day with local celebrities, blue treats and even took pictures with Papa Smurf, Smurfette and Clumsy Smurf!
You can also catch these three Smurfs, together with the rest of the village in The Smurfs 2, opening in theatres August 7 2013!

Although we didn’t paint ourselves blue like the 8 Days Shirtless guys, we were just as excited to celebrate and soak in the fun of everything blue! Located just right in front of InterContinental hotel, there were various activities for public to enjoy, especially the augmented-reality photobooth where you get to take pictures with the Smurfs on the screen!
Thereafter, design your photo with messages and drawings and paste them on the Smurfs “Birthday Wishes Wall”!
Three 8 Days Shirtless Guys were present where they painted their body blue! We can safely say that their blue-bods are as attractive. Even treats like popcorn and candy floss were all ‘Smurf-ied’! It couldn’t get any better than that!
987fm DJs The Muttons kick started the event with the appearance of Smurfs - Papa Smurfs, Smurfette and Clumsy Smurf! Fans were not only delighted to meet the characters, they couldn’t wait to snap a picture with them!
Local celebrities Yvonne Lim, Vivian Lai, Shane Pow, Jayley Woo, Ya Hui, Sora ma, Zhang ZhenHuan were there to show their support.
As part of the event, they designed or rather, coloured T-shirts with Smurf imprints, that will be part of a charity auction. Each with a unique design, fans can bid to be the proud owner of their idol’s creation!
Fans got to get up-close with their idols while playing Smurfy-games like “Shoot Gargamel” and “Find Papa Smurf” where winning teams were awarded Smurf goodie bags and of course, the bragging Smurf rights!
The second batch of hot-favourite celebrities arrived not too long later where we saw Edwin Goh, Jeffrey Xu, Zhou Ying, George Young and Adam Chen. They too introduced their inspirations for the Smurfs-designed T-shirts and urge all fans to bid for their design! Bidding starts from $35, so be sure to bid for your favourites!
Fans also have an option to pay a token of $20 to snap a picture together with their idols on the augmented-reality photo booth. While some requested once-in-a-lifetime opportunity group picture with many artistes, others opted to take only with their favourites where some grabbed the opportunity to get close to them!
No one can resist the charms of the Smurfs, even the stars themselves, who couldn’t wait to snap pictures with the blue-celebrities! Well, here are some we would like to share with you! Spread the love. I mean, spread the Smurfy-love!
