Screening Showcase of Kom Ki-duk’s 2 Award-winning Films!
By InCinemas / 05 Jul 2013 (Friday)
The Singapore Film Society will be present a showcase of the film auteur Kim Ki-duk's latest two films - ‘Pieta’ and ‘Arirang'.
Pieta was the first South Korean film to nab the top prize at the Vernice Film Festival, winning critical praise for a filmmaker who was rarely embraced in his home country. Its title translates into “mercy” or “sympathy”, and it came about when director Kim Ki-duk visited the Vatican City and saw the Pieta statue and felt heavy sadness and pain for the modern society.
