In between the flight arrivals and departures are stories of sadness, farewell, joy and reunion...
“Triumph In The Skies” stars Francis Ng, Julian Cheung, Myolie Wu, Chen Fala, Ron Ng, Kenneth Ma, Nancy Wu and Him Law.
Triumph in the skies II is on StarHub On Demand and airs concurrently with Hong Kong’s telecast!
In Triumph In The Skies 2, most of the cast members travelled to other countries such as Paris, England and China. When asked about Ron’s favourite and most memorable trip, he cited Paris as he got to see the Eiffel Tower, though he didn’t get to explore much due to tight filming schedules.
Without a doubt, Triumph In The Skies 2 is the drama to look out for. After 10 years since the first series, fans have been looking forward to another season. Though labelled as a highly anticipated drama sequel, the trio didn’t seem to be pressured to do well!
Thanks to StarHub, we got to chat with the three cast and when we interviewed Ron Ng first, he quickly ‘pushed’ to veteran actor Francis Ng and main stars like Myolie Wu and Julian Cheung as the pillars of the show. When we told Wu about Ng’s clever ‘tai chi’ to Francis Ng, she immediately answered ‘me too’! Cheung was slightly taken aback with the results but remained humble and said that Francis Ng is the one to look out for.
“I have no regrets (the show) as I believe all the cast and crew have put in their best during the production and I’ve already try my best,” he continued.
Ron Ng described his character as a pilot who has grown (compared to the first series) and matured. “In Triumph In The Skies, he is seen as a stubborn and rash young adult who didn’t like to be a pilot, but for the second series, he becomes a high-ranking pilot and even becomes a senior to the young pilots who often comes to me for advices and tips, so yes, a definite growth in my character,” Ng added.
Wu, who also starred in the first series will be back playing a new character, an aircraft maintenance technician who physically resembles her Zoe (Francis Ng’s wife in first series)
Wu then said, “I think it’s a little easier for me to portray this new character as for the first show, I was considered new to the industry and had a lot to learn. I’m not a very hyperactive person in real life so for me to act as someone so bubbly and cheerful, it was rather difficult.”
For most actors, a long break might be a consideration to get away from work, the media and have a good rest. For Wu, she hopes to have a year-long break to travel and explore the world. She mentioned Japan and Paris as the two countries she longed to go and perhaps work there for a period of time, for a change of lifestyle.
Wu had apparently cancelled her holiday, including flight and hotel bookings due to a clash in filming projects. Wu said, “even after a year-long break, I believe viewers will still be able to remember me.”
When it comes to choosing projects, Cheung puts ‘good script’ as his first priority. “Well, if there is a good story but a not-so-good director, it will still be a rather good show/film’, he added.
Triumph in the skies II will premiere on StarHub On Demand on 15 July concurrently with Hong Kong’s telecast!
