Hallyu star Lee Jun Ho 李俊昊 of Korean boy band 2PM sheds his ‘beastly’ image to a cute and energetic detective in Cold Eyes! The crime-action film marks his big screen debut and he hopes his fans are able to see him as a new actor instead of the Lee Jun Ho on stage.

Together with veteran actors Jung Woo Sung 郑雨盛, Han Hyo Joo 韩孝珠 and director Cho Ui Seok, they were in town to promote the film and even held a meet-and-greet at Jurong Point amongst their packed schedule.

Apart from Lee and actress Han Hyo Joo, it was the first time the other cast members were in Singapore. Leading actors Jung and Han mentioned that they enjoyed the Chili crab they had and hoped to be back in Singapore for a holiday.

Possessing a photographic memory and razor-sharp concentration, Han plays the rookie cop Ha Yoon Ju who fills her role in the SCU with unmatched passion but learned the ropes from her seniors as they progressed with James’ trail. Director Cho revealed that she and Jung agreed to be part of the project even before they read the entire script.

“I felt that the plot was very interesting and I don’t want to miss it. I hope to approach the audiences with a new perspective.”

“I had a lot of fun during the filming process and I think that the character is a part of me.
I didn’t try to force the character out of me,” Han added.

Cold Eyes is the remake of 2007 Hong Kong film Eye In The Sky《跟踪》. The movie tells the story of a group of detectives from the surveillance team of a special crime unit who work together to take down a bank robbing organization. Cold Eyes, one of the hottest movie in Korea this summer, topped the domestic box office chart in its first week of release when it opened on 3 July and collected more than US$36 million in South Korea till date. The film has also been selected for the upcoming Toronto Film Festival in September.

For Jung, Cold Eyes is his first ever villain role since his acting debut and he definitely played the part of the criminal mastermind ‘James’ well, with his menacing and ruthless plans. As to why he accepted the role, he said: “There was no hesitation to accept the role and I want to try to see how the character develops in the movie,” he added.

When asked Lee about the differences between singing and acting, he felt that there wasn’t a great difference but instead of appearing on stage as a group (2PM), he promotes his activities in his name. “As an actor, there’s only my name Lee Jun Ho on the movie poster,” he said.

Cold Eyes opens in theatres 5 September 2013 and is definitely a blockbuster movie you don't want to miss!
