It's a star-studded cast in Sandra Ng and Matt Chow's latest comedy film, Golden Chickensss <金鸡SSS>!
With more than 20 renowned Hong Kong actors and actresses appearing in the movie, Ng describes the filming process as ‘if I’m thanking my guests at a wedding dinner’!
“We have a new actor guest-starring of set almost every day and at the end of each shoot, I’ll thank them as if it’s a wedding banquet,” quipped Ng at an interview last Saturday at the Hotel InterContinental Singapore for Golden Chickensss promotional tour.

Famous actors and actresses such as Nick Cheung, Louis Koo, Ronald Cheng, Anthony Wong, Shawn Yue, Fiona Sit, Alex To and even Donnie Yen whom Ng revealed that despite his busy schedule, Yen set aside a few hours during wee hours in the night before flying off for another project.
Together on the tour were director and scriptwriter Matt Chow and actress-singer Ivana Wong where both Chow and Ng agreed that Ivana has a great potential to be a comedy actress.
Playing a money-minded prostitute, Wong said that she created her own ‘village accent’ that only she knows. “It’s actually Mandarin with a Cantonese tone”, the actress added. “I feel very honoured to have my first movie as a comedy becauseI am bringing laughter to the viewers. I feel it’s very meaningful.”

It may be Wong’s first big-screen role, but for Ng, who doubles up as a producer for the film was full of praise for her. Ng added: “She may not play the exaggerated comical roles like me, but she really has a great potential to be a comedy actress.”
“She (Wong) said her parents have not watched the film, but I think that when they do watch it, they’ll be proud of her.”
Golden Chickensss marks the 3rd installment on the life of the kind-hearted prostitute Ah-Kam (played by Sandra Ng), set against the fast-paced night life in Hong Kong. It took Ng 12 years after the 2002 ‘Golden Chicken’ and 2003 ‘Golden Chicken 2’ for a franchise of the hit comedy as she ‘didn’t have plans to make it’.
“In the 12 years, there are so many things that were changing at such a fast pace, so I thought I could bring that into the film”, the 48-year-old actress commented. She also added that there won’t be next franchise for the film. “I won’t be doing another film on prostitutes.”
Expect an array of actors in the movie where most of them appearing in unexpected role, such as Edison Chen who plays a Japanese owner of an oral sex shop where they had to ‘uglify’ him. “He is too handsome. During our rehearsals, I sent him back to the makeup unit to make him uglier,” Ng recounted.
If you intend to catch the film, don’t forget to sit through the end credits for a special cameo appearance by one of the most highly sought-after actor!
