Jay Chou laments about aging

The superstar reveals why he’s unable to dance much anymore

At the recording of a China TV show, Jay Chou not only sang with studio audience, but also talked about his journey to superstardom since he stepped into the entertainment business at the age of 18.

"After graduating from high school at the age of 18, I didn't manage to get into a university, so I started writing songs," sighed Jay. "Luckily, I know how to play the piano."

"I joined a songwriting competition and came in second." It was then that mentor Jacky Wu discovered him, and the rest is history.

However, the 32-year-old Jay laments that he's "getting older and unable to dance due to shortness of breath, which is why all the fast songs are arranged at the end of the concert."

Apart from his concert this year, Jay also went to Hollywood to film "The Green Hornet". "It feels great to be able to make movie in Hollywood," said Jay, "but I prefer making music videos because they wrap faster."

As it has been well over a year since Jay's last album "The Era" was released, several fans also commented that his album release is slower as compared to his previous albums, and beginning to question if he will be shifting his attention to filmmaking.

To assure his fans, Jay replied confidently that "preparation for his new album is almost done".
