Open-air Cinema 'Films At The Fort' Returns with Award-winning Films & Documentaries!

Singapore's well-loved open-air cinematic experience event - Films at the Fort will run from the 14th to 23rd August at Fort Canning Park.

Set in the natural amphitheatre of Fort Canning Park, it is the perfect place to unwind with friends over a sunset drink and enjoy a quality film under the stars. The film program in 2015 comprises 10 award-winning feature films - from new releases to cult classics and sought-after documentaries.

1) Citizenfour (PG)
     14 Aug - Fri

Citizenfour is an award-winning 2014 documentary film directed by Laura Poitras on the 30-year-old whistleblower Edward Snowden's WikiLeaks and the NSA spying scandal. This thriller film won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 2015 Oscars.




2) Walking Under Water
     17 Aug - Mon

Making it's premiere in Singapore, Walking Under Water is a documentary featuring a tribe of sea nomads that live on the sea and from the sea. They have no country, no form of documentation and no government. Immerse yourself in the magic of this underwater world and way of life.

$2 from every film ticket to help the main character in the film “Sari” pursue an education.

(The Imitation Game; While We're Young)

3) The Imitation Game (PG)
     18 Aug - Tues

There's so much to talk about in this critically-acclaimed film about mathematician, cryptanalyst and war hero Alan Turing. Nominated for 8 awards including Best Picture, Best Director (Tyldum), Best Actor (Cumberbatch), and Best Supporting Actress (Keira Knightley). It won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

4) While We're Young (NC16)
     20 Aug - Thurs

While We're Young is a 2014 American comedy-drama film starring Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts, Amanda Seyfried and Adam Driver. The film centers on a New York-based documentary filmmaker and his wife (Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts, respectively), who begin hanging out with a couple in their 20s (Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried).

5) Shawshank Redemption (NC16)
     22nd August

This movie is one of pure brilliance; a rare find that will uplift you every time you watch it. Adapted from the Stephen King novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, the film tells the story of Andy Dufresne, a banker who is sentenced to life in Shawshank State Prison for the murder of his wife and her lover despite his claims of innocence.

The film received multiple award nominations and outstanding reviews from critics for its acting, story, and realism.
