Dwayne Johnson Confirmed to Star in Disney’s Jungle Cruise!

A theme park ride-turned-movie with The Rock Dwayne Johnson? Count us in!
While he’s been attached to the project for a couple of years, The Hollywood Reporter reported that The Rock himself has now officially closed a deal to star in Disney’s Jungle Cruise, based upon the company’s iconic theme park ride.
The project has gone through a number of script rewrites and changes by scriptwriters by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay and is slated to begin shooting in spring of 2018. The search for a director is now on.
Other Disney films created based on their theme park attractions include The Country Bears, The Haunted Mansion, Mission to Mars, Tomorrowland, and the most popular, Pirates of the Caribbean.
The Jungle Cruise ride takes riders on a journey through a variety of rainforest locales, from the Nile and Congo rivers to the Amazon and more.
