Selina Jen asks for S$6 million in compensation

By InCinemas  /  18 Dec 2010 (Saturday)

The battle for compensation begins.

It has been 56 days since Selina Jen was severely burnt while filming My Date with Spring. Her management company, HIM International and Hunan TV, which the production crew belonged to, entered a discussion regarding compensation, but had yet to reach an agreement.

HIM International reportedly brought a lawyer to the discussion with Hunan TV and asked for a NT$14 million (approximately S$6 million) compensation.

Hunan TV rejected the amount, claiming that there was a clause which said "If the filming is deemed too dangerous, the subject can revoke the contract". However, at that time, HIM International believed that the explosion scene was safe and did not reject filming it. Hence, Hunan TV felt that HIM International should bear some of the responsibility.

The S.H.E starlet's management company expressed that they cannot accept Hunan TV's excuse. The company showed a picture of a "char-faced" Selina, taken immediately after she was sent to hospital, in the hope that the TV station would not hold back on compensation.

The photograph reportedly showed a charcoaled-face Selina. The girl in the picture looked very hapless, shocking everyone who was present at the discussion.

Hunan TV still refused to bear full responsibility despite the revelation of the photograph.
