The Smurf-tation is too strong to resist!

By InCinemas  /  12 Aug 2011 (Friday)
Everyone wants a piece of the Smurfs! Blue will be the trendy colour as THE SMURFS IN 3D is going to smurf in theatres this 1 September 2011! Anyone feeling the Smurf-tation (Temptation)?

Here's a First Look at the Smurfs playing soccer in the grounds of Singapore! Just like the movie, the Smurfs have arrived onto our lands! InCinemas has also been invaded too! It's alright though. These cute little creatures love InCinemas (Picture)!

This weekend, visit the open field near The Cathay or Scape Park and take a closer look at the Smurfs! They're of the size as featured in the movie! However, do exercise control as they're meant for display only. =)

Created by Belgian cartoonist Peyo (pen name of Pierre Culliford) on October 23 1958, the adorable blue little creatures quickly appeals to a large audience, especially the kids, with many of their different characteristics. Featured in cartoon series and comic books, they have smurf'ed into our lives and especially to some of our childhood days! Who can resist it? There's even a day to commemorate the Smurfs! (Click to find out more about The Smurf Day!)

And recently on 7 August (Sunday), the Smurfs made their appearance at Bugis Junction for the 'Smurfs In The City Launch' event and celebrated our Singapore's 46th National Day with many of our local celebrities! Whether it's up on stage or off the stage, PaPa Smurf, Smurfette and Clumsy received a warm welcome from the crowd of all ages!

Here's a clip from the event.

Check out Darryl Yong's Spider-Smurf, Nat Ho's Good-looking Smurf and Tay Ping Hui's Dancing Smurf below! To find out more of the event, you can visit our 'Smurf in the City Launch Facebook Album' on our InCinemas Facebook Page! About The Movie
The Smurfs make their first 3D trip to the big screen in Columbia Pictures’/Sony Pictures Animation’s hybrid live-action and animated family comedy, The Smurfs. When the evil wizard Gargamel chases the Smurfs out of their village, they’re forced through a portal, out of their world and into ours, landing in the middle of New York’s Central Park. Just three apples high and stuck in the Big Apple, the Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.

The Smurfs in 3D opens in cinemas islandwide on 1 September 2011.
