Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck demand release of Zack Synder's cut of Justice League

The theatrical version of Justice League was widely panned by critics.

After shooting most of the movie, director Zack Synder stepped down from the movie in May 2017 after a personal family tragedy and Avengers director Joss Whedon took over in post-production to complete the film. Whedon also oversaw the reshoots.

Immediately after the release, unhappy fans, who thought that Whedon diluted Synder's vision in the edit, started an online petition for the "Synder Cut."

The petition collected close to 180,000 signatures.

Several actors from the cast have expressed their support of the Synder Cut, including Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot and Batman actor Ben Affleck.

Synder retweeted both actors:

A few months ago, director Kevin Smith confirmed the existence of the Synder Cut, which some had assumed was pure myth.

In a Cinemablend podcast interview, Smith said:

"That being said, I’ve spoken now to enough people at various levels in that production. There IS a Snyder cut. For sure. That's not a mythical beast. It exists. Now, it's not a finished movie by any stretch of the imagination. There were things that went away from the story that they shot that didn't wind up going into (visual) effects or anything like that. So I would assume, based on what I've been told, that large sections of that Snyder Cut are, you know, pre-viz (with) a lot of green screen. We're not talking a finished movie."

The question now is, will DC and Warner Brothers accede and release the Synder Cut?
