Comic-Con is basically the epitome event of the year for fans and superhero nerds to meet, discuss and spazz over the variety of goodies and special footage screening of films and television series that are set to premiere in the next few months.
While not everything that the Studios presented at panels made it online (mostly Marvel.... and that’s a pity), but there was still a ton of new footage circulating the web. Here are the best 5 movie trailers below, ranked from awesome to gloriously impressive.
5. Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them
We may have seen quite a bit of footage from the Harry Potter spinoff, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them’, but this new trailer gives us more insights into the magical researcher Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and his quest to find the magical creatures that are roaming around New York in 1926. We also see a little bit more on Colin Farrell’s character, who, like the other wizards disguised in muggle state (normal human beings), waving sticks and chanting spells on the streets.
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them opens InCinemas 17 Nov 2016!
4. Kong: Skull Island
This is the first footage of upcoming monster epic ‘Kong: Skill Island’, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and starring Tom Hiddleston, recent Oscar-winner Brie Larson, and John Goodman. If you’re wondering, yes, this is ‘another King Kong movie’, but it seems like the tone of this film is darker and gloomier, compared to Peter Jackson’s 2005 remake. Even its titular character has a more menacing giant man-smashing ape.
There are rumours that there may be a crossover with the studio’s Godzilla franchise, which we may or may not learn in the few months to come when more trailers are released.
Kong: Skull Island is slated to release InCinemas 9 March 2017!
3. Marvel’s Doctor Strange
(Check out the other 14 Movies to Look Forward to in the 2nd Half of 2016!)
Marvel’s Hall H presentation saw the arrival of the new trailer for the next Marvel Cinematic Universe instalment, ‘
Marvel’s Doctor Strange’, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the neurosurgeon-turned-magical sorcerer.
In the new trailer, we finally get to see more magic from both Strange and Tilda Swinton’s character, Ancient One. Like the title suggests, the clip is rather strange - opening mystic portals and passing through mind-boggling doors of perception.
Marvel's Doctor Strange opens InCinemas 3 November 2016!
2. Justice League
This whole trailer of DC’s
Justice League is already looking better than ‘
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’. The film reunites the main superheroes from its predecessor - Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot). The much anticipated introduction to the team: The Flash (Ezra Miller), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) are also featured in this new trailer… and it seems to be damn good one to look forward to.
The movie isn’t out till November of next year, but take all the time you can to make this good.. just don’t screw it up the second time.
Justice League opens InCinemas 16 November 2017!
1. Wonder Woman
The best trailer of all that were released during the San Diego Comic-Con is hands down,
Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot’s portrayal was the best thing that happened in
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and for a rather long time, finally, a female superhero standalone film. The trailer basically introduces the history of Wonder Woman, how Princess Diana of Themyscira became the famed superhero who joined to fight for global peace during the World War I.
Wonder Woman is slated to open InCinemas 1 June 2017!
