Production houses worldwide have suspended everything due to the global COVID-19 situation. Hong Kong is also not spared from this problem, but there seems to be hope for the film industry there.
Hong Kong actor Louis Koo, 49, and chairman of Emperor Group Albert Yeung, 77, made a joyous announcement that they will collaborate to produce 10 Hong Kong in the next two years. To support the Hong Kong film industry, Mr Koo and Mr Yeung also said that they would hire mostly Hong Kong actors and crew.
"We hoped to come up with more good scripts and develop a new generation of movie workers with this collaboration,"

Mr Albert Yeung stated that this initiative brought up by Mr Louis Koo during a dinner in April, the current president of the Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild. They were concerned as most Hong Kong actors and crew were unable to work in China due to border closure.

If possible, they plan to start movie production in the latter half of the year, and the movies produced will have a broad spectrum of genres — horror, suspense, comedy, romance.
"I will help to act, produce or direct if I am approached. I am even keen to take up jobs behind the scenes."
