Yoo Ah-in and Park Shin-hye’s upcoming zombie film, #ALIVE, is gearing up for its premiere. The cast candidly talked about many interesting topics at a press conference for the film.
#ALIVE stars Yoo Ah-in and Park Shin-hye as Joon Woo and Yoo Bin respectively, two people living in the middle of Seoul, trapped in their very own apartment without any digital access as their location becomes the epicentre of a mysterious virus.
During the press conference, Yoo Ah-in gave a little insight to his character Joon Won by saying, "He’s not perfect, and he has a clumsy side, so he’ll be an approachable figure that’s easy to relate to." He also added that Joon Won is tech-savvy so he will have various ways to survive the outbreak.
Park Shin-hye talked about the astonishing amount of action scenes in the film by sharing, "I didn’t know that there would be so many action scenes. It was fun while doing them, and I could show a different type of energy compared to what I’ve shown until now. Yoo Bin is calmer, less emotional, and more rational compared to the characters I’ve met in the past."
When asked about the impressions they have of each other, both Yoo Ah-in and Park Shin-hye stated that the other party was the biggest reason why they chose to star in this film.
Park Shin-hye said:
I really wanted to film with him. I met him on a private occasion before, and he was very interesting. I’ve always wanted to meet him once through a project.
Yoo Ah-in made an interesting comment by saying this as Park Shin-hye is known for her roles in romantic comedies:
Honestly, I wondered what it would have been like if we had first met through a romantic drama.
It would be nice to see them both star in a romantic drama one day but we'll just have to make do with seeing them on screen together for the first time in zombie film #ALIVE first!
