Movie-goers rejoice, the cinemas are reopening!

By Rachelle  /  03 Jul 2020 (Friday)

THIS JUST IN - cinemas are allowed to operate again! Doors will reopen from July 13 onwards, with mandatory safe management measures that patrons and staff alike will have to comply to.

Here's what you need to know:

1. Cinemas will introduce a one-meter safe distancing seat configuration in their halls
BUT if you're with friends and family of up to 5, you will be allowed to buy tickets to sit together without the one-metre distancing requirement.

2. Halls will have a maximum capacity of 50 patrons

3. Patrons are encouraged to make ticket and food & beverage purchases online

This is to reduce contact avoid any queues at the cinemas. If you'd still like to make your purchase on-site, you are strongly encouraged to go cashless and use the contactless payment method instead.

4. All patrons must wear a mask at all times
That includes inside and outside the halls, with the exception of food and drink consumption. After eating/drinking, patrons should put their masks back on.

5. All patrons must check-in using SafeEntry at the cinema entrances

6. Temperature screening will be conducted before entry into the cinema
Any patron with a temperature of 37.5C  or higher will be denied entry.

Do bear in mind that you may still have to refer to the respective cinemas' websites and social media channels for further details.
