The popular Japanese animated film, Your Name, is being remade as a live-action film!

Lee Isaac Chung will direct the Paramount, Bad Robot and Toho produced live-action reimagination of the 2016 animated romantic fantasy drama film which was an instant classic in Japan. Chung will also rewrite the script, working off the draft by Emily V. Gordon (The Big Sick).

The live-action reimagination of the film will follow two teenagers who discover they are magically and intermittently swapping bodies. When a disaster threatens to upend their lives, they must journey to meet and save their worlds. Casting has yet to be announced.
Chung is a son of Korean immigrants who grew up on a small farm in rural Arkansas. He attended Yale University before abandoning plans for medical school. His debut film Munyurangabo premiered at Cannes in 2007 to great acclaim. Chung’s latest film Minari starring Steven Yuen with Plan B and A24 won the Grand Jury and Audience Awards at Sundance 2020.
