Jared Leto reunites with Darren Aronofsky for a Blumhouse film

Darren Aronofsky and Jared Leto are set to reunite for a movie, 20 years after the psychological cult classic Requiem For A Dream.

The project in question is Adrift, a horror story that will star Leto with Aronofsky on board to direct and produced by Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Proudctions.

Adrift is based on a short story by Koji Suzuki, who wrote The Ring. The story is set in the dead calm of the open sea, where a fishing boat discovers an abandoned yacht with a strange distress call. A deckhand agrees to take lone control of it while it’s towed into port, but soon he discovers why the rest of his more experienced crew members call it a “Ghost Ship.”

Aronofsky will also be writing the script along with Luke Dawson. The project was first identified by Leto who then pursued the rights for 10 years before bringing to Blum and Aronofsky.
