This year may very well end up being the year of Olivia Wilde. After being one of the brightest highlights of Tron: Legacy, the young actress has four projects coming out in 2011, including two blockbusters (Cowboys & Aliens, Now); and two comedies (The Change Up, Butter) - not to mention a return to House at some point. But just as James Franco has learned, there's no better time than at the height of popularity to start collecting projects, and that's exactly what she's doing.
THR reports that Wilde has joined the cast of Welcome To People, the family drama directed by Alex Kurtzman (who worked with Wilde on Cowboys & Aliens). In the film, Chris Pine plays a man who returns home after the death of his father to learn that he not only has a sister, played by Elizabeth Banks, but that she's an alcoholic and has a 12 year old son. Wilde will play Pine's girlfriend in the film.
In addition to being ridiculously beautiful, Wilde is an incredibly talented young actress who we will likely be only seeing more and more of in the coming years. Here's hoping that she has a solid 2011 and sticks around for the next few.
