Boris the Animal. Or maybe just Boris! Catch the alien villain in MEN IN BLACK 3!

By InCinemas  /  28 May 2012 (Monday)

"My name's just Boris!", insists Jermaine Clement's character Boris the Animal, who looks the part of a villain from a summer blockbuster, which doesn't come any more light-hearted with sprinkles of cheddar than MEN IN BLACK 3.

Yes, the men in iconic black suits and sunglasses are back. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones reprise their roles as Agent J and Agent K respectively, with Josh Brolin playing the younger Agent K in an earlier timeline. One of the main highlights (other than seeing Smith back on the big screen after 4 years of absence) is the villain in MEN IN BLACK 3 - Boris the Animal!

Boris is an intergalactic criminal and the last known member of the Boglodite race. He was apprehended by Agent K at Cape Canaveral in Florida on the 16th of July 1969. Upon escaping from the Lunar Max prison in 2012, Boris time-jumps back to 1969 to prevent Kay from shooting off his arm and establishing the ArcNet Shield (that prevents any mass Boglodite attack on Earth). Agent J similarly travels back to 1969 to stop Boris from achieving this goal.

Amid the flurry of time travel and the flaws that come with it, MEN IN BLACK 3 is also a showcase of the makeup effects work on Boris by the legendary 7-time Oscar-winning makeup artist Rick Baker (An American Werewolf in London, 1981; Men in Black, 1997; The Wolfman, 2010).

[More about The Boglodites]

"The Boglodites are a species of alien parasites renowned for stripping a planet of its resources. The only known surviving member of this species after the establishment of the ArcNet Shield around Earth is Boris the Animal.

The Boglodites are characterised by their extra long reptilian-esque tongues, telescopic binoculars for eyes and smaller aliens which can emerge from within their bodies and shoot deadly darts. Numerous appendages can sprout from their feet and provide extra leeway in gripping.

In addition, although Boris is the only example to go with, a Boglodite's face can peel away with alien appendages that resemble fingers. When snarling, Boris' mouth distends to reveal slightly larger teeth.

Although the invading Boglodite forces are not seen, their spacecraft hover over the skies of New York. The Boglodite spacecraft are equipped with a metal dome encased over a red underbelly of tentacles and globular circles. These tentacles are capable of plowing through nearby buildings with minimal difficulty." ~ excerpt taken from Men in Black Wiki

MEN IN BLACK 3 is rated PG (Some Disturbing Scenes) and is now showing InCinemas.
