VV Drama celebrates 20th Anniversary with TVB Stars at Plaza Singapura!

VV Drama (StarHub Ch 855) celebrates their 20th anniversary this year with TVB stars Ruco Chan 陈展鹏, Myolie Wu 胡杏儿 and Kenneth Ma 马国明! A TVB Fan-Meet was organized last Sunday at Plaza Singapura Atrium level 1 for the public to have an opportunity to interact with their favourite TVB stars.
The emcee of the day was Ling Zhi, DJ from Radio Station 100.3FM and we’re able to get to know a little more about our TVB stars through this Meet-The-Stars session!
So what kind of activities does Rico Chen usually do?
“I do exercise during my free time to keep myself healthy so that I look better. You can tell from my skin colour.” Rico spoke in Mandarin. When the emcee took the opportunity to advise the crowd to have a healthy lifestyle by exercising other than watching TVB channels, Rico added humorously. “Watch TV also can do sit ups!”
Rico also shared with the crowd that he just tried Laksa and it tasted really good. At this point, one of the fans cried out several other delicacies like Bak Kut Teh (Prok Rib Soup), Hainanese Chicken Rice and Rico smiled. “Yes, I’ll try them tomorrow.”
The next TVB star to appear is Kenneth Ma, who spoke about his role as a violent criminal in Tiger Club. “It’s very fun! I quite like this character (as a bad guy). Imagine there’s someone you dislike in the world, you can think that you’re killing them (while acting).” Kenneth said casually and when the emcee asked who exactly does Kenneth dislike, he laughed. “No, no, I don’t have anyone I dislike!”
As to what roles Kenneth would like to play next, after having tried so many characters like lawyers, doctors, etc. the tall actor replied that he’s open to any characters. Even as an eunuch?
“Yes even eunuch. Seriously, I’m fine with it. I also want to get a feel of how it’s like to play an eunuch.” Kenneth said cheerfully.
Last but not least, it’s Myolie’s turn to take the stage! The previous 2 actors chose to perform in Cantonese but it’s a little different for Myolie. Asked by the emcee about her choice of the song ‘Close to You’, Myolie smiled while hiding her shyness, “Because I want to be close to everybody!”
At the end of her performance, she was presented with a huge bouquet of roses by her fans! The emcee asked if she’ll like the crew to help her carry but Myolie rejected the kind offer. “I’ll hold it for awhile first. They’re so beautiful!”
Which recent Drama series is the toughest to shoot?
“It’s ‘Wish and Switch’ 換樂無窮! Yes I know, although it’s in modern setting, there are actually a lot of scenes that seems to be torturing me!” Myolie recalled the many bathe scenes which left her with some skin allergy issues. “Yes and the frogs!” Her fans reminded Myolie and she continued, “I’m very frightened of frogs. Thankful the director is considerably nice to me and got me a double to shoot a few scenes.”
Some lucky winners got the opportunity to take photos with the 3 TVB stars on stage using a Polaroid camera provided by the organizers. Myolie was nice to have asked the emcee Ling Zhi 灵芝, DJ from Radio Station 100.3FM to join in when the 3 TVB stars were about to take a group photo using the Polaroid camera. But of course, all three TVB stars were very friendly that day and there were ample interaction with their fans at Plaza Singapura.
