Happy Sunsilk Academy Fantasia and May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favour!

Just 2 more days and we’ll be able to witness The Hunger Games-like competition LIVE on the Academy Fantasia Channel (Ch 110) – 8 July, Sunday 8:00pm! Well, in terms of food and hunger, it isn’t exactly like the popular novel/film, but there are many areas we can relate to the Games!
In anticipation for the Sunsilk Academy Fantasia, InCinemas will be taking a closer look at each of the finalists (the pawns of the Games.. Kidding!), and give our InC-Fans an exclusive opportunity to attend the first weekly concert where the finalist will be making their debut performances!
Thanks for our friends at Starhub, InCinemas has got the opportunity to visit the Academy's hideout, which will be a temporary home for the 14 finalists over the arduous 10-week competition. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to speak or say anything about it until Sunday evening, after the 'tributes' are in place to play the Games.
We were covered in shades during our journey to the secretive hideout. Totally undisclosed, the Games Makers' stand is clear: They will tell you nothing. Of course, there'll be some who will try to dig out the secrets but InCinemas knows best.. You'll get assassinated if you know where the venue is. Ignorance is a bliss~
But let us just tell you how we feel about this mysterious visit to the set, specifically and meticulously designed for Sunsilk Academy Fantasia. It has
tripled our excitement to watch Sunsilk Academy Fantasia when it starts
this Sunday 8:00pm!

For now, let us introduce you the 7 Female Contestants below!
If you've read/watched The Hunger Games, you'll know how important it is to create an impression so that people will remember you. We've actually met the 14 contestants when they're unveiled during a press conference last Wednesday, 27 June. And we can tell you, first impression sticks. We still remember what they do and how they have treated us! But who are we to tell you about them before the Games begin?
Not to influence your thoughts, what we have here is a quick summary of what caught our attention during the an-hour-long press conference. Yes, it can be pretty draining on the attention but we strongly advise our readers to give every contestant a chance, like what we have done! Afterall, Katniss is the last to perform and she wows everyone!

Short Bio: Family Oriented girl who believes her determination and strong family bonds will help her progress in the competition.
What caught our attention?
VEE confessed that she's never been into a relationship before! How can? She feels that she hasn't met the right person.. And we shall see if there's any Mr Right in the Games!
Her mum is worried that she'll become untidy during the competition and it'll be filmed and shown in the TV! But this probably won't happen as VEE dreams to be a singer!

Short Bio: Soft-spoken and relatively shy, Hui Xian comes across as a quiet, harmless character. Her voice, however, has been said to "move mountains".
What caught our attention?
Despite her size, Hui Xian loves to dance but didn't get to go to a good dance class. After her "O" levels, she decides to do what she enjoys and hopefully in future she’ll get to do what she likes in future. She's enrolled into Lasalle Music class and her favourite singers include Jay Chou and Zhang Hui Mei.

Short Bio: Natalie feels that she owes her willpower and determination to her neglected childhood. Her innate ability to dance eventually won her parents' trust and support, allowing her to pursue her superstar dreams.
What caught our attention?
Definitely her dance moves! Natalie gave a little preview to her dances moves during the press conference and it was an eye opener despite dancing to the Sunsilk Academy Fantasia theme music and wearing high heels. With the right music, this sweet looking girl should have more explosive moves to showcase! Natalie loves challenges so once she's in the competition, she'll give her best! Oh and she likes adele and practises her songs at home.

Short Bio: Former FHM model, Fiona, used to strut down runways and participate in beauty pageants. Now, she yearns to excel and delve into her passion of singing. Her main goal is to succeeed in singing and TV hosting.
What caught our attention?
Fiona likes the style of Coco Lee and Landy Wen so the audience can expect her to go towards that direction. Fiona enjoys doing short marathons (~10KM) which also explain her sporty skin complexion. One interesting thing about her is that she always wash her own clothes! "I'm worried my clothes will get dyed or damaged so I prefer to do the washings by myself," said the 24-year old.

Short Bio: The Korean fanatic is a freelance performer who shares her songs on YouTube. Zhi Lin likes penning down the special events in her life in journals, as well as shooting videos to record precious moments.
What caught our attention?
Zhi Lin is the first to introduce herself using a simple song (being the fifth contestant to appear) and she left quite an impression with her cheerfulness. She longed to be a singer but thinks she's being impractical. Now that she's among the 14 finalists, it'll be interesting to see how she'll grab this rare opportunity to fulfil her dream. One of the singers she adores is Jolin Tsai.

Short Bio: Mature, soft-spoken and quiet, Chloe is an independent thinker who is responsible and family-oriented. Although feeling uneasy about being filmed throughout the entire day, she strives to do her best as singing is something she truly enjoys doing.
What caught our attention?
Chloe is said to cry easily. She bursted into tears when she noticed that her earring is missing while shopping. She thinks that the audience might get used to her crying face during the competition. Singing has been Chloe's dream but she didn't take the action to pursue it in her younger days. After working for a few years, she finally decides that it's time to give it a try and not let her dreams come to waste.

Short Bio: Jessie is a sweet and bubbly girl who sees staying with the other 13 contestants as a challenging but exciting feat. She hates flying insects but enjoy the thrill of a good horror film. Having had prior performing experience, she does not have stage fright at all.
What caught our attention?
The small little girl impressed the media with her voice when she sang her introduction perfectly. Although she's small in size, Jessie is not afraid of rats and cockcroaches, and she reminds us of Merida in Brave (InCinemas 8 August 2012). Similar long locks yeah? Her parents is very supportive as they have always known that singing is her dream.
