By InCinemas  /  01 Oct 2012 (Monday)
You know you had a pretty good childhood when you can recognise some of the game characters in Disney's upcoming animated movie, Wreck-It Ralph, slated to open in Singapore theatres on 20 December 2012.

And for us to better understand some of the characters in the movie, Disney has released a list of character images and descriptions from the different gamer worlds seen in the film! Hit the jump and begin the adventure, 'One Game at a Time'!

Your choice of Games featured in Wreck-It Ralph
Level 1: Game Central Station (Game Jump)
Level 2: Fix-It Felix, Jr (Game Jump)
Level 3: Hero's Duty (Below)
Level 4: Sugar Rush (Game Jump)

Can't wait to watch Wreck-It Ralph after watching its movie trailer #2! My favourite part is when all the 'bad guys' recite their creed around the 1:56 min mark. Share with us which is your favourite quotes/moments under the comments below!

"I am bad. And that's good.
I will never be good, and that's not bad.
There's no one I rather be, than me."

The message seems to be telling us that despite our differences, it is important that we accept and love who we are. Find out about the Sergeant who tell us about FEAR as a four-letter word below!

LEVEL 3: HERO’S DUTY

Sergeant Tamora Jean Calhoun: One Mean Space Marine
In the sci-fi battle zone of Hero’s Duty, Sergeant Calhoun is more than just a pretty face—she is the tough-as-nails, take-charge leader who fights for humanity’s freedom. When she’s not offering in-game intel, she’s training her troops for the next attack wave. This unrelenting commander is driven by a personal vendetta and will stop at nothing to protect the player and the arcade from a virulent Cy-Bug invasion.

Cy-Bugs: Insects Gone Bad

Menacing creatures known as Cy-Bugs are a deadly threat to not only their game, Hero’s Duty, but the entire arcade. They know just three things: Eat, destroy and multiply. Players beware! Cy-Bugs can morph into anything they eat—from an attack buggy to an assault rifle. They do have one weakness—an attraction to bright light. (They are bugs, after all.)

General Hologram: Man with a Medal

General Hologram is the consummate soldier: He’s bold and distinguished, serious and professional. Tapped to stand sentinel over the ultimate prize in Hero’s Duty - the coveted Medal of Heroes - General Hologram is honored to bestow the Medal to anyone who is skilled enough to make it to the top of the 99-story tower.

Do You Know?
The game companies were specific in the way how their characters were being used in the movie, Wreck-It Ralph.

In an interview with Total Film, producer Clark Spencer points out that there was lots of conversation about which character would be the biggest character in that Bad Anon scene, even to the specifics of centimetres and that he was fascinated that all of the companies know how tall their characters are.

"We had a scene where we wanted the rings to come out of Sonic, and SEGA said the only way that happens is if he falls over, and we didn't have him fall over in the scene, so we actually went back and re-animated it." says the producer.

Also according to Disney wikia's List of cameos in Wreck-It Ralph, we have:
  • Nintendo: Bowser from Super Mario Bros.
  • Sega: Sonic the Hedgehog and Dr. Robotnik (Eggman) from Sonic the Hedgehog, Neff from Altered Beast, and Cyril the Zombie from House of the Dead
  • Capcom: Zangief, Chun-Li, Cammy, Ken, Ryu and M. Bison from Street Fighter II; Dr. Wily from Mega Man
  • Namco Bandai: Clyde from Pac-Man, Dig-Dug from Dig-Dug
  • Gottlieb: Q*bert, Coily, Slick and Ugg  from Q*bert
  • Midway: Kano and Smoke from Mortal Kombat. Paperboy from Paperboy, and Bartender from Tapper.
  • Konami: Frogger from Frogger
