Cathay Decoded Game Comes to Life

Get ready for the first interactive code-breaking challenge: Cathay Decoded Race 2013! This anticipated race will see social media fans racing across downtown Singapore, battling their wits and stamina to win attractive prizes.
Introduced as an online game in 2012, this year’s Cathay Decoded Race will take place in the streets on 23 March 2013 and send participants racing through Orchard Road fighting to be the ultimate winner.
Besides the adrenaline-pumping action from checkpoint to checkpoint, participants will be juggling various online applications in a test of their social media skills.
At each checkpoint, participants in teams of three are to scan QR codes using their smart phones, break codes via a series of riddles and challenges and complete mandatory tasks of taking and uploading pictures via smart phone applications InstaPlace and Instagram.
Supporters will be able to follow the race in real-time by searching for specific hashtags on Instagram.
Race to win the top prize of SGD$7,000 in cash and another SGD$800 worth of vouchers from Cathay’s business units as well as mall tenants.

Registration end on 10 March 2013. Interested participants (teams of three) can email their particulars (name, NRIC and contact number) to contest@cathay.com.sg. The race will kick off with the first 26 teams that register.
