After a year long hiatus, Liang WenYin is back with a brand new album, ‘Yellow Jacket’ and she tells us at the press conference held at The Fullerton Hotel about her thoughts about her new album and how she has grown from it.
It’s all about the process for the young lad as she recounts about her incidents and stories behind making this album.
It marks her fifth year as a singer and she tells us that ‘Yellow Jacket’ is one of her albums that she really pushed her limits and tried new stuffs such as a dance number. In addition, this album has a more creative and fun side to making it, as compared to her previous albums where she solely focused on her singing.
When asked if she would try more daring sexy dances in the future, she answered with a sweet laughter saying that she previously did try out in Taiwan and is willing to do more in the future. Besides dance numbers, Liang trying her hands at playing the guitar and composing music. With such as sweet voice, we hope to see her original compositions in her next album!
If you’re wondering why is the title of her album called ‘Yellow Jacket’, there is a significant story behind it, which I personally felt rather meaningful. She mentions that it was partly because of the Doomsday (12.12.12) that the company thought of the title. The colour yellow, signifies peace and hope, which she hopes to bring out through this album. Doomsday or not, she believes the importance of peace everywhere and anywhere. “Yellow is not just a bright colour, but to me, it also signifies peace and hope, which became the theme of my album.”
If you have seen her music video, you may noticed Liang having some special yellow power to make time slow down to those around her. The meaning behind it is to remind all of us to slow down and notice the little things happening around us that can actually be something very beautiful.
Besides those mentioned, most of Liang’s songs are tunes about hope, faith and peace. While she admitted to getting affected by hurtful comments in the past, she realised that it is part and parcel of being in the entertainment industry and now learns to just be herself. “If I change to please someone, then I won’t be myself anymore, I want to show the true side to my fans”, she added.
Indeed! We should learn to notice the little happy things around us, which can make a huge difference in our lives.
Stay tuned to InCinemas as we will be bringing you details on her fan-meet tomorrow!
