That Girl In Pinafore is the first Singapore film in 15 years to celebrate the success of Xinyao, 新谣, the popular 90s Singaporean folk music movement. The film aims to re-introduce this music with contemporary arrangements to a new generation in a charming teenage love story.

As shown in the teaser, the lovers in the movie, Jiaming and May, sees Project Superstar 2 winner Daren Tan 陈世维 and rising starlet Julie Tan 陈欣淇 taking up the respective roles.

About The Film
The Girl In Pinafore also marks the first major involvement of a major local music company, Ocean Butterflies, in a Singaporean movie.
The movie revolves around four teenagers (Jiaming, Xiaopang, Haoban, and Caogen). They form a xinyao band to bring business back to a struggling folk music pub, and through this love blossoms between Jiaming and May.
