LOS ANGELES, CA (March 3, 2011) – Sanford Panitch, President of Fox International Productions, announced today that principal photography for LOVE IN SPACE will begin March 8.  The film will shoot on location in Beijing and Sydney, and stars Aaron Kwok, René Liu, Eason Chan, Kwai Lun Mei, Angelababy, Jing Boran, with a special appearance by Xu Fan.  Wing Shya and Tony Chan direct a screenplay written by Chan and Lucretia Ho, who previously collaborated on HOT SUMMER DAYS.  Fruit Chan is producing the film.

An ensemble romantic comedy, LOVE IN SPACE is the follow up to the directing team’s box office hit, HOT SUMMER DAYS.  The story follows a mother and her three grown daughters as they juggle their assorted love lives.  Each woman is successful in everything except love – until they unexpectedly encounter new romances in Beijing, Sydney and even on the moon.

“Our concept is certainly something that has never been depicted in other romantic comedies before,” said director-co-writer Tony Chan.

Returning cast members from HOT SUMMER DAYS include Taiwanese actress and pop singer, René Liu, Hong Kong model and actress Angelababy and Chinese pop singer and actor, Jing Boran.

Joining the returning cast members are Xu Fan, most recently seen in Chinese blockbuster, AFTERSHOCK; Kwai Lun Mei, who recently starred in OCEAN HEAVEN alongside Jet Li; and Cantopop singer/actors Aaron Kwok and Eason Chan.  “It is our dream cast,” commented co-director Wing Shya.  “All of them were on our wish list from the very beginning.”

LOVE IN SPACE will be released by China’s leading distribution/production company, Huayi Brothers Media Corporation. Twentieth Century Fox will distribute the film in the rest of Asia.  LOVE IN SPACE is a co-production between Fox International Productions and Huayi Brothers, together with Sundream Motion Pictures (Hong Kong).

“We could not be more thrilled to reunite with the same team behind HOT SUMMER DAYS,” said Fox International Productions President, Sanford Panitch. “Wing and Tony have gone from two of the most anticipated directors in China to two of the most exciting filmmakers around and FIP is proud to once again work with them.”
