Car races, epic heists, and globetrotting adventure: ‘The Fast and the Furious’ franchise is gigantic. It has spanned 16 years with 8 successful blockbusters, having amassed USD 3.9 billion worldwide from the first seven.

With its latest entry, ‘Fast & Furious 8’, racing into theatres tomorrow, we asked some questions to two big fans of the franchise, Aizad Shahari and Manosh Vijay.

InCinemas: We heard that you are a big fan of the Fast and Furious Franchise. How big of a fan are you?

Aizad: I have watched all the movies since the first one and really enjoyed every single one.

Manosh: I have watched the movie about 50 times in total without getting bored of it. I also, always watch the first screening of the movies.

InC: Why do you love the Fast and Furious franchise so much?

Aizad: I love it for the action and daring stunts and also the story line almost depicts what life is about. You'll face paramount challenges in life, obstacles that are formidable if face alone. But when you come together with different strengths, these challenges are a lot easier than we thought. Just like how an entrepreneur would get things done, by delegating to the best people to the job.

Manosh: I have a strong love for cars and the presence of strong teamwork to get their mission completed. I also love the subtle comedy bits in the movies.

InC:  What do your friends and family think about your love for Fast and Furious?

Aizad: To be honest, to my friends and family it just a movie franchise so as much as they know my love for the franchise, it actually doesn’t really affect them.

Manosh: They have nothing against it since it is a harmless movie obsession. On the other hand, my girlfriend gets a little upset that I am always watching the first screening without [her] but it’s only because I watch it with my friend every time. It is more like a “bro” thing.

InC: Which character can you relate to the most?

Aizad: Dominic Toretto. He resembles a great leader that fights and protects his people. He also uses the power of family to get his team to work together which is very relatable to me as I have a very similar working style with my team at work.

Manosh: I can relate to Roman the best because he is funny and I feel that he is the joker in his crew and I somehow have the same effect among my friends.

InC: The Fast and Furious films are full of epic car chase scenes. Which one is the highlight for you?

Aizad: The one scene that has really caught my attention would be the scene from the 7th instalment where the very expensive car flew out of the high-rise building in Abu Dhabi.

Manosh: My favourite scene is the one from the 7th movie, when they jumped off the Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi with a 3 million dollar car.

InC: Which of the seven films so far is your personal favourite?

Aizad: I actually love all seven films and would count all of them as my favourite.

Manosh: My personal favourite is the 5th movie which was when Dwayne Johnson joined the Fast & Furious Family

InC: How many more movies do you think the franchise will have?

Aizad: I believe that everything will eventually come to an end and I do not expect that there will be another one after this.

Manosh: I think another 2 movies would be a good end to the franchise.

‘Fast & Furious 8’ opens in theatres 13 April 2017.
