After releasing the teaser in January and making us wait for a painful 4 months, the official full trailer for 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' is finally launched!
As Marvel producer Kevin Feige confirmed, 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' will be the last film of Phase 3 in the MCU franchise.
This means that the events in 'Far From Home' takes place after 'Avengers: Endgame'.
So naturally, the trailer is bound to have spoilers and Marvel has been kind enough to get Holland, the king of spoilers, to warn us at the start of the trailer.
And if you haven't seen 'Avengers: Endgame' (what are you doing with your life?), you
SHOULD NOT continue reading this article.
Taking place almost immediately after 'Endgame', the death of Tony Stark / Iron Man continues to haunt Peter Parker / Spider-Man, who is in mourning.
Deciding to take a break from being Spider-Man, Parker and his friends, Ned (Jacob Batalon) and MJ (The Greatest Showman's Zendaya), take a vacation to Europe, but their trip is hijacked by Nick Fury.
Fury introduces Parker to none other than Quentin Beck, also known as Mysterio.
Surprisingly, in this movie, Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio is an ally; although there might be a catch there because he is from another multiverse's Earth. Mysterio is a well-known villain, and since there's no way Marvel will significantly alter such a major character, it probably means that Mysterio is only pretending to be an ally. Which is not at all unbelievable since he is a master of illusions.
The trailer has also revealed the existence of a multiverse, where the film's villains, the Elementals, are also from.
A multi-verse means many things for the MCU; namely, the possibility that the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, which are now properties owned by Disney, can join the MCU. Now that would be truly exciting!
Spider-Man: Far From Home' will release in cinemas here on 4 July 2019.
