Following the success of the No.1 box office hit 23:59, Gorylah Pictures, MM2 Entertainment & Clover Films are pleased to announce a new movie project Inside the Urn《鬼仔》.
Inside the Urn is a supernatural thriller about a family haunted by a Toyol. In South-east Asian folklore, a Toyol is a small child spirit invoked by a witch doctor from a dead human foetus using black magic.
Executive Producer Eric Khoo shares, “As a child I was always fascinated and intrigued by the concept of the Toyol and it has taken me years developing this film and I just can't wait to watch it now!"
Inside the Urn will be helmed by 23:59 director Gilbert Chan, working on a script by acclaimed producer Tan Fong Cheng. While this is Tan’s first attempt at scriptwriting, she has previously worked closely with multiple award-winning director Eric Khoo, producing many of his films. The movie, with a budget of S$900,000, is scheduled to commence principal photography in June this year and is aiming for a year-end theatrical release in Singapore and Malaysia.

Says Executive Producer Lim Teck of Clover Films, “We are very happy to work with Gilbert again after the success of 23:59. We believe the intriguing storyline coupled with Gilbert’s strong storytelling will give us a movie that will be accessible to audiences worldwide.”
Equally excited about the collaboration, Gilbert Chan said "It's a tremendous honour to be working with Gorylah, MM2 and Clover Films again. I am itching and looking forward to terrorizing audiences in the cinema again!"

Here's a quick look at the synopsis for Inside the Urn:
Kim, a 15 year old teenager, is having the worst year of her life. She has not quite come to terms with her mother's death a couple of years ago and has problems adjusting to her new school. At this time, her father Choon has decided to remarry Na, who hails from a remote village in Indonesia.
Na experiences a lot of hostility in her new home, not just from Kim but also from her mother-in-law Mrs Lee and the maid Rosa. It doesn't help that her arrival seems to have sparked off a series of spooky incidents at home. Rosa keeps seeing and hearing strange figures and noises at night; while Kim's old toys keeps disappearing and reappearing in strange places.

Things improve when Na becomes pregnant. Mrs Lee - who longs for another grandchild - starts treating her better, and even cajoles Kim to do the same. Meanwhile, Choon's lacklustre career takes a turn for better. In fact, he starts doing so well at work that he could soon afford a new home for his family.
Just when all seems rosy, tragedy strikes with Mrs Lee getting terribly injured and it is discovered that Na has brought with her from Indonesia a macabre urn, one which contains a Toyol. She forces Na to get rid of it, and the latter agrees. The consequences are tragic and horrifying.
