Some might complain that it's too soon to release a new 'Spiderman' movie. Well, after all the last 'Spiderman' movie, Spiderman 3, directed by Sam Raimi was released in 2007. That was only 5 years ago!
But Marvel Studios seems anxious to release a new one. Perhaps they are thinking of featuring Spiderman in the inevitable sequel to
The Avengers? Who knows? Still, it's worth to give this new 'Spiderman' movie, titled
THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN, a chance. Why? Because it's directed by Marc Webb.
There's an inside joke that his last name Webb got him the job, but truth be told, he was hired because he did a great job with his debut feature, the blissful and unconventional romantic-comedy (500) Days of Summer.
You may ask why would a major movie studio hire a director to do a big-budgeted Hollywood superhero blockbuster with so much at stake (including possibly facing the collective ire of fans of Raimi's trilogy), when all he has to show is a small and inexpensive, albeit acclaimed independent film with a boy-meets-girl theme.
The answer is trust.
And we hope that the film repays our trust.

THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN opens InCinemas 3 July 2012. The film is available in 3D and IMAX 3D. Rating to be advised.
