A new local romance drama is coming out soon, starring Wang Weiliang of ‘Ah Boys To Men’ fame as Lin Yu, the titular
‘Lucky Boy’
who is cursed with poor luck and has a crush on his schoolmate, Qingqing (Venus Wong).
The trailer keeps bringing up how unlucky he is in every aspect of his life from lottery to academics. Watch the trailer here:
Synopsis:
‘Lucky Boy’ chronicles several decades of the lives of Lin Yu, his family, friends and Qingqing - the girl whom he falls in love with in primary school and continues pinning for throughout his tumultuous and eventful life. Lin Yu is always one step behind others and surrounded by misfortune… Will Lin Yu, the destined "unlucky" boy, be able to change his fate?
Towards the end of the trailer, his luck in love seems to change, though.
