By Flora  /  16 Mar 2017 (Thursday)

Coco is Disney/Pixar’s original animation since 2015’s The Good Dinosaur and the stakes are high for this Land of the Dead-themed musical adventure.

The first teaser trailer dropped this morning, which gives us a glimpse of the movie’s plot, the characters and the gorgeous-looking art style.

Helmed by Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich, Coco is inspired by the Día de los Muertos, the Mexican Day of the Dead, and features an all-Latino cast including Anthony Gonzalez, Gael García Bernal, Renée Victor and Benjamin Bratt. It follows the story of  Miguel (Gonzalez), a 12-year-old aspiring musician who is a huge fan of the dead legendary Mexican guitarist Ernesto de la Cruz (Benjamin Bratt). His musical adventure begins when he  touched Ernesto’s guitar, and is transported to the mystical Land of the Dead. He has to find a way out of he wants to return to his family in the realm of the living.
