If arts is in your blood and are one who claims that food makes you happy, then you should participate in the various sessions for Food-O-Philia!

(Check out the various events happening at Food-O-Philia!)

Food-O-Philia is the Singapore premiere of the critically acclaimed play The Case of Katherine Mansfield, and a retrospective of the late Oscar-winning screenwriter Ruth Prawer Jhabvala, among other delectable choices. Be prepared to venture in with a strong stomach – and heart.

It is no wonder that food plays a central role in many books that we love. From the madeleine in Proust’s Remembrance of Things Past to the gruel in Oliver Twist, and even all the fantastical concoctions in the Harry Potter series, food is often used as a device for evocation, cipher and metaphor.

The new food series Food-O-Philia is thus the attempt to burrow deep into Singaporeans' system and understand ourselves better through food. Art – books, play, films, music, photography – to explore our relationship with food, provoke passionate discussion and ultimately, have a belly good time!

So come dig in at The Arts House!
