Issac Dang's First Singapore Fan-meet at Singapore Botanic Gardens!
By InCinemas / 19 May 2014 (Monday)
The heavy rain couldn’t stop newly-crowned Best New Artiste Issac Dang (Issac 鄧養天) from a successful fan-meet at the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
Dang was in Singapore to receive his award for ‘Best New Artiste’ at the Singapore E-Awards 2014 last Saturday.
Though the planned route around the park was shelved, Dang, together with 30 of his fans learned more about the park’s rich 155-year history through a guided tour to places such as the Marsh Garden, the Orchid Breeding and Micropropagation Lab, the SBG Heritage Museum and the CDL Green Gallery.
Of all the attractions that Dang visited, the ‘Monkey Pot Tree’ was the one that left a great impression. “I am very design-inclined and I feel that the shape is very unique’, quipped the singer who previously held a job in Singapore as a graphic designer.
Admitting to not having green fingers, Dang shared that he would consider picking up agriculture in the future, but ‘doesn’t dare’ to own a plant at the moment.
“I feel (taking care of it) is a promise. If I decide to own one, I want to make sure that I have time to see through it.”
Turning 29 years-old this June, the boyish-looking lad has not thought of how to celebrate his big day. “My priority still lies with my work. If I do not have anything planned on that day, perhaps I’ll give myself a small break,” he explained.
Just right before he was about to leave, his fans prepared a surprise mini birthday celebration for the Malaysian singer, complete with a cake and presents. He thanked the fans for their time and hope that the nature trail would encourage people to appreciate nature.
