Gone are the days when the young and fresh faced Efron played the ever popular Troy Bolton in Disney Channel's High School Musical. But fret not because Disney is bringing him back!
Yes, you read that right. Zac Efron is set to make his Disney comeback!
The long-time Disney icon is set to take a leading role in a new Three Men and a Baby remake on Disney+. The original 1987 comedy starred Tom Selleck, Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg and was directed by Leonard Nimoy.
Three Men and a Baby which itself is also a remake of a French film titled Trois hommes et un couffin – follows a trio of New York City bachelors whose lives drastically change when a baby lands on their doorstep, prompting them to change their wild ways.
It’s unclear exactly which role Efron will be taking on nor is there is a director in place as of this article's publish date. The film however will be produced by Gordon Gray who best known for bringing inspirational sports dramas like Miracle, Secretariat, The Rookie, Invincible and, most recently, Ben Affleck’s The Way Back to the screen. Will Reichel has also been hired to write the screenplay.
While we wait for more news on this to drop, you may catch the hunky actor on Netflix in a new documentary series Down to Earth, that sees the actor exploring different parts of the world with wellness expert Darin Olien ‘to find healthy, sustainable ways to live’.
