Zac Efron will star in Blumhouse's 'Firestarter' reboot

Blumhouse is rebooting the 80s sci-fi horror flick, Firestarter, with Zac Efron attached to star.
The film, an adaptation of Stephen King's classic novel of the same name, centers on a young girl who develops pyrokinetic powers and the ability to see the future. She is abducted by a mysterious government agency that plans to weaponize her superhuman skills. Drew Barrymore starred as the young girl in the 1984 adaptation.

Efron, who rose to fame from starring in Disney's High School Musical trilogy has taken on more serious roles in recent times with the latest being Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile where he played the serial killer Ted Bundy.
