We have new details on the upcoming Gossip Girl reboot!

The showrunner of the upcoming Gossip Girl reboot has shared a lot of new info about the series!

Joshua Safran, who serves as creator, showrunner, and executive producer of the reboot – took to his Twitter on Sunday (September 6) to answer questions from fans about what to expect in the upcoming HBO Max series. While he didn’t reveal too many spoilers, Safran did tease that the show is going to be “very, very queer” and that the main difference between the original series and the reboot is that the “majority” of the characters will be “diverse and/or queer.”

As the show takes place in the same universe as the original, I hope at some point people might drop by. And as this version is set in 2021, 4 years after the end of the original's flash-forward, there will be mentions here and there as those people are still around!

I really wanted this to feel like an extension and in no way a reboot. So it's an evolution of the story, not a retread. That said, there are echoes. Constance and St. Judes are still Constance and St. Judes, after all.

The Gossip Girl reboot will air on HBO Max for a limited 10 episodes. The series will star an all-new cast that includes Emily Alyn Lind, Tavi Gevinson, Thomas Doherty, Adam Chanler-Berat and Zion Moreno, with Kristen Bell returning as the show’s narrator.
