Selena + Chef to debut in Asia 12 August

With Chef Jordan Andino’s help, Selena prepares a meal that embodies the unique flavour profile of Filipino cooking: chicken adobo with jasmine rice followed by jackfruit and plantain turon for dessert.

The first two seasons of the HBO Max Original Selena + Chef will premiere in Asia exclusively on HBO GO from August 12. Stream or download the unscripted cooking series featuring Selena Gomez, the multi-platinum selling recording artist, actress, producer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, as she navigates unfamiliar territory: making delicious meals while stuck at home in quarantine.
Since social distancing at home, Gomez has been spending more time in the kitchen than she ever imagined. But despite her many talents, it remains to be seen if cooking is one of them. In each episode of this unapologetically authentic cook along, Gomez, with the support of her Quaranteam, will be joined remotely by a different master chef. Together, they will tackle cuisines of every variety, share invaluable tips and tricks, and deal with everything from smoking ovens to missing ingredients. Each episode will highlight a food-related charity, and this casual, funny, and informative series will embrace both the struggle and the joy of learning to cook — while inviting audiences to follow along at home.
“I’ve always been very vocal about my love of food. I think I’ve been asked hundreds of times in interviews if I had another career, what would I do and I’ve answered that it would be fun to be a chef. I definitely don’t have the formal training though! Like many of us while being home I find myself cooking more and experimenting in the kitchen,” said Gomez.
The world-renowned chefs featured during the first season include Angelo Sosa, Antonia Lofaso, Candice Kumai, Daniel Holzman, Jon & Vinny, Ludo Lefebvre, Nancy Silverton, Nyesha Arrington, Roy Choi, and Tonya Holland. The roster of all-star chefs in the second season include Aarti Sequeira, Curtis Stone, Evan Funke, Graham Elliot, JJ Johnson, Jordan Andino, José Andrés, Kelis Rogers, Marcela Valladolid and Marcus Samuelsson.
Renewed for a third season, Selena + Chef is executive produced by Gomez for July Moon Productions, along with executive producers Eli Holzman, Aaron Saidman and Leah Hariton on behalf of Industrial Media’s The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC), and Melissa Stokes (Season Two).
