You Are The Apple Of My Eye 《那些年,我们一起追的女孩》 is based on the same titled book, written and directed by the same book author, Giddens Ko. The film tells a story of a young man, Ko-Teng (Chen-Tung Ko), who has several close friends with a crush on a fellow student, Shen Chia-Yi (Michelle Chen). This Taiwanese local production has set a new No. 1 film record in Taiwan’s local film history when it opened on 19 August 2011. It is now the fastest film to cross NT$100 million mark this year after Transformers: Dark of the Moon and it is also the 2nd highest grossing Taiwan film after Cape No. 7 (NT$465 million / S$19.3 million).

And if you've been following on its Official Appleofmyeye2011 Facebook page, you'll know that this romance comedy has set an all new record in the Hong Kong Box Office when it opened on 20 October 2011.

According from this Facebook Note from Twentieth Century Fox Film (HK), movie-goers had to queue at least an hour to get the tickets to YOU ARE THE APPLE OF MY EYE and some of the fans had described the sensation to be greater than that of Disney's. The movie has garnered over HK$11.5 million in its 4-days box office and still counting! This phenomenon is said to be the best in recent years and even surpass the general reaction for movie blockbusters like AVATAR (2009) and HARRY POTTER films!

In addition, YOU ARE THE APPLE OF MY EYE has been nominated 4 Golden Horse Awards.

1. Biggest opening day for Taiwanese local films, which has grossed an outstanding box office of NT$18.4 million (S$766,000). This new record outperformed all the opening day box office of local films including Cape No. 7 (NT$1.2 million / S$51,000), Night Market Hero (NT$3.1 million / S$129,000) and Monga (NT$16.6 million / S$692,000).

2. Biggest opening weekend for Taiwanese local films, which has grossed an astonishing NT$60.4 million (S$2.5 million). This has also outperformed previous local production record-holders like Cape No. 7 (NT$4.3 million / S$178,000), Night Market Hero (NT$12.3 million / SG$512,000) and Monga (NT$52.4million / S$2.18 million).

In its 2nd weekend of release, You Are the Apple of My Eye has grossed a 6% increase in Box Office over opening weekend (NT$63 million / S$2.62 million) and continue to champion Taiwan’s box office, surpassed all Hollywood productions: Final Destination 5 (NT$15.2 million / S$633,000), One Day (NT$14.9 million / S$620,000) and The Zookeeper (NT$8.4 million / S$352,000).
