Changi Airport Rocked to Japanese Visual Kei Band ViViD's Arrival in Singapore

Singapore, 24 November 2011 – Japanese rock band, ViViD, was greeted by screaming fans as they arrived at the Changi International Airport earlier this evening. ViViD, the first of four other performing artistes to arrive in Singapore, will be amongst a star-studded cast of artistes that will be performing at this weekend’s Asian music extravaganza at the Marina Promenade for Sundown Festival 2011.

Although this marks ViViD’s first trip to the Lion City, their reception at the airport was no less fanatic. ViViD fans, armed with welcome placards and banners of all sizes, swarmed to the airport in masses, determined to give the five Japanese stars a red carpet welcome.

A few of these diehard fans turned up spotting extensive make up, elaborate hair styles and flamboyant costumes, reminiscent of ViViD’s visual-kei style. The scene was a sight to be behold as supporters rejoiced and yelled at the top of their voices when the five boys appeared at the immigration exit.

One such fan, 16-year-old Danae, member of Singapore ViViD fandom club brought her like-minded friends down to the airport. She cried enthusiastically, “I’ve been a fan of ViViD for the longest time! To be able to catch them ‘LIVE’ this weekend is like a dream come true! I hope they perform their new single, FAKE at Sundown Festival.”

The Sundown Festival 2011 will take place this Saturday, 26th November 2011 from 5.30pm till late at the Marina Promenade. Currently into its third year since its roaring success in 2009, this year’s list of performers includes; Show Luo and Hebe, and Zhang Yun Jing from Taiwan, Korea’s super band, Teen Top, as well as Japan’s J-rock band, ViViD.
